Kinfolkology x. Community: RVA
Itinerary
2:00-2:15
After you pick up your name tag, please grab something to eat and grab any seat you’d like. Please also take a moment to complete our pre-event form. If you haven’t yet joined the Kinfolkology Community and/or the Kinfolkology Community Directory, and you’d like to, please do that now as well.
Attendee Introductions
2:15-2:45
During this time, we invite attendees to introduce themselves and answer the following question: In your wildest dreams—where funding and resources are unlimited—what do you want to achieve?
2:45-3:00
Members of the Kinfolkology x Community: RVA Team will introduce themselves, and then share information about Kinfolkology’s origins, vision, and goals for the future.
Workshopping Kinfolkology’s Data
3:00-3:30
Dr. Williams will lead a 15 minute “hard hat tour” of the two databases housed @ Kinfolkology, Oceans of Kinfolk & Louisiana Kindred. Then we will open up the floor for questions and collaborative thinking.
3:30-4:45
Between 3:30 and 4:00, workshop attendees will form six breakout groups. Each breakout group will discuss a question inspired a different Ancestor Profile. Please join whichever conversation is of the most interest to you. We will reconvene at 4:00 so that members of each group can share a few highlights from their conversation.
4:45-5:00
This time is reserved for sharing our thanks, as well as final questions and dialogue, and the [voluntary but much appreciated] completion of our exit survey.
